Mixed review, we came here for lunch one day and the little tapas picento we had was really lovely as was the sangria- yum. We decided to come to dinner another night to realize the paella had to be ordered in advance for a specific one. the one available was the chicken and greens. It was far from fresh and the 2 pieces of chicken on the bone were dry and flavorless. Looked like it had been made a few days before to be honest and we left it. The service from the lady was incredible, she was so friendly and nice , one of the main reasons we returned.

Alkimia is a little bit of Spain in Weligama. María and Javi have created a unique place where the food is authentic, with products imported from Spain and a flavour of 10. We tried several dishes and they were all spectacular. The atmosphere is cosy and the staff, very friendly. An experience that combines quality, closeness and passion. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a great experience at Alkimia, the food was absolutely authentic and tasted great, the tapas we ordered was delicious and looked like it was straight from the streets of Spain- this was a better Spanish gastronomy experience than we have had in Spain and we are frequent travellers to the Basque Country. We had several dishes and everyone of them was delicious- my son even ordered his dish twice it was so tasty. The Sangria was the tastiest and most balanced I have ever had in terms of wine. I think the prices are very fair considering the authentic produce you get- the price meets the quality of the food. If you are in Weligama and in need of some good food from a chef who cares about quality and taste then don’t think about it go to Alkimia you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back before we leave Sri Lanka to have some more of this delicious authentic food, thank you and see you again soon

The best food I’ve eaten in four months, no exaggeration. I ordered the day dish and it was delicious. And then an ice cream with strawberries as dessert.

Amazing authentic Spanish food, everything we ordered was equally delicious. The owners are super friendly, and put alot of care in the service and the dishes. Very good wine as well!
